The equinox represents a mirror of our lives. Balance is possible, but it’s not something easily maintained, nor does it last indefinitely. Just like seasonal shifts, our lives naturally sway from one direction to the next, and true balance emerges through these fluctuations and adjustments. As we seek balance, it’s important to remember to be compassionate with ourselves. Balance isn’t about perfection; it’s about honoring where we are in the moment. There are times when we feel off-center, and that’s okay. The journey towards balance is ongoing, and being kind to yourself during moments of imbalance is just as essential as striving to find equilibrium. One of the most powerful tools for finding that balance is pranayama, our breath, or expansion of life force in Sanskrit. It offers an immediate transformation in body, mind, and spirit, anchoring us along our journey, no matter where it leads. In yoga, our breath helps us to both navigate poses on the mat and move through our everyday lives, acting as a bridge between our body and mind. As we transition into a new season, focusing on mindful breathing offers a simple, yet profound way to find peace, balance, and a deeper connection to our true selves. Congratulations to all NYC kids for making it thro Congratulations to all NYC kids for making it through their first days of school!🥰💥✨🙌🏼 Where do I begin with this 5th grader??? My heart is so full, watching her continue to grow into this amazing little person whom I’m getting the sense will not be so little before I know it! I love seeing her bright spirit shine through her smile, warmth, kindness, independence, perseverance and determination to do and be her best and overcome any obstacles on the way. I’m praying for and so excited for her to have a meaningful LAST year at the amazing @ps133brooklyn (also our last of NINE years there 🥲🥰) before she heads off to MIDDLE school next year!
UPDATE: Nadal had an amazing first day and it’s UPDATE: Nadal had an amazing first day and it’s still going at soccer practice!🥰 Although, he and his friend missed the first ferry to Governor’s Island for soccer practice and had to take the next one and figure out where the field was. As we were texting I was thinking of how times had changed since I was a teenager in NYC and my parents had no idea how my day went until I got home after sunset and told them. As much as I love the available connection and hearing from him, i think I may tell him to only message me in an emergency and get used to the beautiful independence of being a city kid!✨ ****** Please pray for and send good energy to all kids starting school today in NYC and especially Nadal. I am so proud of, excited (also slightly nervous) for this 9th grader. As many as of you know, Nadal worked SO hard last year to get into and have his pick of some of the top NYC schools. If you are not familiar with the process, it is highly competitive, intense and time consuming - all of which he navigated with incredible maturity and skill. @lemanmanhattan was his first choice from the very beginning and that is where he will be for the next four years. We feel so fortunate that he has this incredible opportunity to be in such an amazing school, which is essentially a slice of the United Nations in downtown Manhattan. Of course, now the real work will begin as he figures out how to pave his path forward academically and socially. I trust he will do amazing things, but for sure I am praying praying praying that everything gets off to a good start in this new chapter.✨ Also, yes, that is Luna on the subway platform. We dropped him off for the first day and both of them were very happy about that.🥰
